The Northernbound pilgrimages - Feb 2018 - Feb 2024 - Matapouri to Whananaki - May 2021

Part of our ongoing Northern Bound Pilgrimages - a series of pilgrimages moving gradually north and finishing at Rangihoua.

This pilgimage took us from Matapouri to Whananaki. A hightlight was hearing from Dorothy Waetford, mana whenua, about past and present stories of this area.

We enjoyed beautiful autumn sunshine as we walked the off road coastal tracks of the Te Araroa trail, as seen below.
