The Northernbound pilgrimages - Feb 2018 - Feb 2024 - From Horeke, to Raiātea, to Māngungu - April 2023

The Northernbound pilgrimages were a series of pilgrimages walking small parts of the Te Araroa trail from Auckland to Rangihoua in the Bay of Islands and learning the local stories en route.

They spanned the years from Feb 2018 - Feb 2024.

This northernbound pilgrimage took us from Horeke to Māngungu. A highlight was our visit to Raiātea near Motutī in the Hokianga. This was led by Manuel Beazley, the Vicar for Māori in the Auckland Diocese of the Catholic Church.
